Dear Citizens of Union Parish,

Please let me welcome you to our new web site. We think that you will find it friendly and informative. And expect more to come in the next year.

We in the district are excited about the 2016-2017 school year. The new high school, grades 6-12, is under construction with its opening scheduled for the next school year. And the total renovation of the elementary school, including the construction of a safe room, is scheduled for completion by the middle of this school year. Prior to the ending of the current school year, the district will begin renovations/construction of a field house, stadium, and regulation track. The elementary school/safe room project, the only school in Louisiana to be so designated, provides a safe environment for everyone in the school and can withstand two hundred fifty mile per hour winds providing safety for students and staff should a catastrophic event occur.

The state of Louisiana in October will assign a report card to every public school in the state.
Early indications are that your Union Parish public schools will show favorable academic growth and be very competitive with their counterparts throughout the state. We are proud of our projected growth and with our ability to compete both academically and athletically providing us the opportunity to grow students who compete on and off the field and who are prepared to succeed in this 21st century.

Let us come together, set expectations and opportunities that will serve our youth, and, in so doing, guarantee their future while enhancing the economic and social growth of the parish.
