Union Parish Elementary Awarded School Improvement Grant
Union Parish Elementary School was one of 18 recipients of the LDOE’s School Improvement Grant, receiving $325,977.
This is a three year grant that will allow UPES to implement strategies towards increasing the academic achievement level of the school. As the school's principal, I am excited about the additional resources that our students will have to overcome challenges in reading, writing, and comprehension.
“We will specifically focus on increasing student achievement through teacher quality by determining the specific needs of our students and offering research-based interventions to meet those needs. We believe in the students of UPES, and we will continue to focus our efforts on literacy.”
